For owners who suspect AI is answering for them

Before an AI recommends somebody instead of you, it goes and reads something.

AIRep shows you what it read, what it then told the buyer, and which of those pages you can get onto this week.

One question. Four assistants. Here's what they opened.

A buyer asked all four:

The trap

Checking it yourself is worse than not checking.

A remodeling company told marketing consultant Marcus Sheridan they were already being recommended: “we're already doing great getting recommended by ChatGPT as one of the best remodelers in our city. Take a look at my phone, we're one of the top companies listed.” He ran the same question on his own account. They weren't there.

“This just proves that your AI loves you and wants to make you happy. But it actually doesn't mean anything unless you show up on MY account.”

Marcus Sheridan, via 21hats

Your account has your history, your logins and your location in it, so it flatters you. We ask cold, from nowhere, the way a stranger asks - and we count what came back in code, not by asking the assistant to remember.

What he saw, and what a cold account saw Two panels. The upper one, his own phone while logged in, lists three recommendations: his company first, then two others described only as another remodeler. A line leaves his company, breaks part way down, and continues faint and dashed into the lower panel - a cold account asked the same question - where a dashed amber box reads: his company is not here. No numbers appear anywhere, because there is no scan behind this story. HIS OWN PHONE, LOGGED IN 1 his company 2 another remodeler 3 another remodeler A COLD ACCOUNT, ASKED THE SAME THING his company is not here.
Not a scan An anecdote, drawn. No numbers, because there was no measurement - only two people asking the same question from two different accounts.

All four read the same page before they answered. Kestrel is not on it.

One is red: riverstonedentalgroup.com, the rival's own website. Two are gold - google.com and kestrelfamilydental.com - pages Kestrel owns, which the assistants opened only on questions that already named the practice. The remaining fifty tiles are dim.

ChatGPT will happily tell you what it thinks of your business. Ask it where it got that and it will guess - assistants are not reliable narrators of their own homework. This is where it got that.

The fair objection

Isn't this just a benchmark? There's nothing in a score you can actually go and do.

Right. So we don't sell a benchmark.

That objection is correct, and it is the reason most of this category is worth nothing. A score is a benchmark. A mention count is a benchmark. Neither one contains a thing you can go and do on Tuesday.

What comes back from a scan is a list of named URLs, each with how many of the four assistants opened it, whether there is a way in - claim, pitch, participate, publish - and whether you are already there. One row is crossed out with DON'T PAY FOR THIS. That is a to-do list with addresses on it, and it is the only part of this we consider the product.

Read the whole thing before you buy

The problem

You can read your Google reviews. You cannot read this.

Right now somebody is typing your category into an AI assistant. Or your name, with the word “legit” after it.

The assistant does not answer from thin air. It goes out, opens a handful of pages, reads them, and decides what to say about you - in about four seconds, with nobody watching.

You will never see that answer. You will never see those pages. You'll just have a quiet month and no idea why.

What you get to see
nothing

And “quiet” means three completely different things.

01

They've never heard of you.

No mentions, no sources, nothing read. Nothing to repair - something to build, and it's a different job.

02

They know you, and never volunteer you.

Ask about your business by name and it describes you accurately. Ask who the best in your town is and it names someone else, every time. We had to invent a word for this after watching it happen: UNRANKED

03

They know you, and they warn people.

One complaint page, three years old, opened by every assistant on every trust question. You're not invisible. You're being answered against.

From the outside all three look identical: the phone doesn't ring. They have opposite fixes, and guessing which one you're in is expensive.

How it works

Three lines from you. Thirty-six answers from them.

Tell us who you are.

Business name, what you sell, where you are. Add your website and we check whether the assistants can reach it at all. Then we read our understanding back to you, and you correct it before anything runs.

We ask what your buyers ask.

Twelve real buyer questions, put to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Six never mention your name - best movers in asheville - because that's the question that decides whether you exist. Three ask whether you can be trusted. Three ask what's wrong with you, because that's the question that actually loses the sale.

That's 36 answers and around a hundred live web searches. We ask through the assistants' official interfaces, cold, the way a stranger asks. We never scrape a consumer app.

You get the map, not just the verdict.

Scans take a few minutes, so we don't ask you to sit there. The report lands in your inbox, and it's yours to keep.

Every number in your report is counted in code, not estimated by an AI. The assistants are the subject of the measurement. They are not allowed to be the instrument.

What you actually get

Everyone else counts your mentions. Mentions are the outcome. We hand you the inputs.

A mention count tells you that you lost. It doesn't tell you where, and there's nothing in it you can go and change. The pages are the part you can change.

AThe Source Map - what each assistant opened.

Assistants down the left, every website they read down the right, a line for every page one of them actually opened about you. Where lines converge, that site is deciding what all of them say about you - one afternoon there moves every assistant at once.

BThe Leverage Ladder - your doors, ranked.Source Scan

Every site scored on four things: how many assistants read it, how many kinds of question it answered, whether there's a way in, and whether you're already there. A door you're already through scores near zero - you can't win a room you're standing in. And the one that sells its way in is crossed out: DON'T PAY FOR THIS.

CUnread Assets - reputation you already have that no assistant has read.Source Scan

Not a “get more reviews” problem. A “the reviews you already have are unreadable to the machines answering your buyers” problem - usually the fastest thing on the list to fix.

DThe Receipts.

Every answer, complete, with the links that grounded it. Every quote attributed to the assistant that said it. If our summary says three assistants call you high-risk, you can go and read the three sentences. We'd rather you did.

EWhat they get wrong.

Hours you changed. A service you dropped. A price that hasn't been true since 2024. Each shown with the page still teaching it to them.

FAnd when we don't know, it says we don't know.

If our search can't confirm whether you have a profile somewhere, the report says unconfirmed. It never says you're not there. A false “you have no reviews here” is the one mistake that would make every other line worthless - because you'd know it was false, and you'd be right to stop reading.

A full report, nothing withheld

This is the whole thing. No email, no signup, no blurred rows.

youtube.com/@kestrelfamilydental

You filmed four videos. One is “What happens at your child's first dental visit” and it has 2,100 views from real Boise parents. Gemini leans on YouTube harder than any assistant on the list. Across 13 answers about Boise dentists it opened zero videos - not yours, not anyone's. The room is empty and you are already standing in it.

Do this: put the practice name, “Boise”, and the answer in the first 30 seconds of each video, upload the edited transcripts, and embed each on the matching page of your site.

Nextdoor - 11 neighbours said your name, unprompted

Eleven neighbours typed your name into Nextdoor without anyone asking. One wrote “they got my seven-year-old through a filling without a single tear.” None of the four assistants has opened that page, and - being straight with you - probably never will: Nextdoor is closed to their crawlers.

Do this: don't chase it. Ask three of those eleven to leave the same sentence on Healthgrades, where all four assistants read 27 times. Same words, open door.

A 42-minute interview nobody can read

tvsmallbizhour.com/episodes/47

Last October you spent 42 minutes on a local business podcast explaining how you treat frightened children before you treat their teeth. It is the single best explanation of what makes this practice different that exists anywhere. It is audio. There is no transcript. As far as all four assistants are concerned, that conversation never happened.

Do this: ask the host for the audio, transcribe it, publish the cleaned transcript on your own site with the episode embedded. 90 minutes of work on something you already did.

Height is leverage; position is priority. Deliberately no dates and no axis - the order is a claim we can defend from the ladder, and a timetable is not.

You are known, and you are never suggested. Fourteen questions, four assistants, 55 answers - and your name is in none of the 24 that decide the category.

Where you stand

Then we asked the same four assistants about you by name. Nineteen of 31 answers knew exactly who you are - the North End, the sedation option, the Saturday mornings. Perplexity wrote: “Kestrel Family Dental is a well-reviewed family practice in Boise's North End, noted for sedation options for anxious patients.” Of your 19 mentions, 6 were positive, 10 neutral, 3 negative. Nobody is warning buyers away from you.

So this is not a reputation problem. It is a recall problem. The assistants describe you accurately the moment a buyer already has your name - and a buyer who already has your name was never the one you needed to win.

Why rivals win

Riverstone Dental Group was named in 19 of those 24 category answers. Vista Point Family Dentistry in 14. Foothills Dental Care in 9, and nobody gave us that name at intake - the assistants brought it up on their own.

The mechanism is not subtle. All four assistants opened the same page before answering: treasurevalleyfamilymag.com/best-family-dentists-treasure-valley-2026. Riverstone sits at #2 on that list, Vista Point at #5. That one URL touched 15 answers. All four also read Zocdoc's Boise dentist listing, 16 times between them; Riverstone and Vista Point each have a page there.

ChatGPT's entire answer to “best family dentist in Boise” was three names with a sentence each, and every one of those names came off that magazine list. Gemini's came off Google Maps, where the same three outrank you on volume.

The gap, in one line: they are on the two pages every assistant reads first, and you are on neither.

The thirty-day arc

Week 1 - get one door open. Create your Zocdoc profile and finish it: hours, insurances, sedation, real photos, a booking link. It is free, it takes an afternoon, and it is the highest-scoring row on your ladder - the one page all four assistants already read.

Week 2 - take back the two profiles that exist without you. Your Healthgrades and Yelp listings were auto-generated and nobody has ever logged in. Claim both, fix the hours, name the services. Your 212 Google reviews already say “gentle with my kids” - those two pages should say it too.

Weeks 3 and 4 - pitch, then show up. Send the magazine editor one short note with your license number, your review numbers and two photos; that list refreshes each spring. Then start reading r/Boise once a week and answering dentistry questions as yourself, under your own name.

Honest expectation: these are the four moves the ladder supports, in the order it supports them. We will not tell you when they pay off, or whether they will - we measure what the assistants read, and we do not control what they do with it.

Go ahead and ask. Then ask it where it got that.

You'll get a list of sites that sounds completely reasonable. It's a guess. A model reconstructing its own sources after the fact is writing plausible text, not reporting a fact. We never ask it - we take the citations its own system returns alongside the answer and count them in code.

If your passes disagree, the range comes back wider than one pass would have shown, and that is the half worth paying for. What we cut, and why we're telling you.

We tested a fifth assistant and found that through the connection we had it couldn't read the web at all - useless for a product about what AI reads, so it is in no tier at any price. We also built a version with six more questions and then measured what they moved: nothing. They landed in the same discovery block, and the headline number didn't shift by a single point. So the top tier asks sixteen questions and puts the seven that decide the category three times, instead of padding the set. You are paying for how sure we are, not for how many.

What this costs elsewhere.

Profound starts at $82.50/month. Peec is €89/month. Otterly's entry plan is $25/month. Good tools, built for marketing departments, priced per tracked prompt. This is $4.99, once.

Done the work? Re-run the same questions.

Not new ones - the identical set, so what moved is the world changing and not different dice.

Questions

The things people ask before they buy.

How do I get my business to show up in ChatGPT?

By getting onto the pages it reads. Nobody can edit an AI's answer directly, and anyone who tells you they can is selling you nothing.

AIRep names the pages ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude actually opened when a buyer asked about businesses like yours, ranks the ones that have a way in - claim it, pitch it, join it, publish on it - and crosses out the one that only sells its way in. We don't print a promise that a placement moves an answer, because we can't measure that honestly yet.

Can't I just ask ChatGPT this myself, for free?

You can get an answer. You can't get the sources - ask an assistant which pages it read and it will invent a believable list. We read the citations its own system returns. And we ask twelve questions three ways from a cold account, which is a different measurement from one question asked by the owner from their own logged-in history.

Why should I trust a $4.99 product with something this important?

Fair. The price is what a scan costs us plus a margin - 36 answers and around a hundred live web searches, and we publish that arithmetic. Every claim is traceable to an answer you can read and a link you can open. When our search is inconclusive the report says unconfirmed, never absent. We take no commission from anything we recommend, and there is a whole row whose only purpose is to tell you not to spend money. If we wanted to run a $4.99 con, that row would not exist.

Is there a free version?

No, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. Every scan asks real assistants real questions across live web searches, and those cost us money whether or not you buy anything afterwards. So the entry price is $4.99 instead of a free scan funded by upselling you harder later.

Is it a subscription?

No. Nothing auto-renews. Three scans, all one-time, and the report is yours to keep.

How long does it take?

Minutes, not seconds - thirty-six answers means thirty-six live conversations. Start it and go do something else; the report lands in your inbox.

Which assistants?

ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity on the Verdict Scan. Claude as well on the Source Scan. If one doesn't properly answer your question set, we don't quietly deliver a thinner report - the scan fails and your money comes back.

Do you fix it for me?

No, and we don't take a cut of anyone who does. We tell you which door, in what order, and where the button is. A lot of it is free and takes twenty minutes.

Can you get something removed from ChatGPT?

Nobody can. There's no takedown form for an AI answer, and anyone selling you one is selling you nothing. What you can change is what it reads, which is the entire reason this exists.

Is my report private?

Yes. It's your business intelligence, not our marketing. We don't publish it and we don't sell it.

I'm an agency / I have five locations.

It works - run a scan per business. There's no agency tier yet. If that's you, tell us; it's the next thing we'd build.
